A series of seven distinct waterfalls cascading through a forested gorge in Makwanpur district, just 3-4 hours drive from Kathmandu. Each fall has its own character — some thunder into deep pools perfect for swimming, others fan out over moss-covered rock faces in delicate sheets. The trail connecting all seven falls is a moderate 3-4 hour hike through subtropical forest. During monsoon (July-August), the falls are at their most powerful but the trail can be treacherous. The sweet spot is September-October when water volume is still high but the weather is clear. Local guides from Hetauda can show you the complete circuit including a few unnamed falls that aren't on any map. Pack a swimsuit — the natural pools at the base of the third and fifth falls are irresistible on a hot day.
