Tilicho Lake is the destination of one of the most popular side hikes of the Annapurna Circuit trek.

Tilicho Lake is a demanding trek that takes you on out of this world adventure to one of the world’s highest lakes in awe-inspiring mountain location. Trekking to Tilicho Lake carries you on a journey through premises of highest altitude lake in the world inciting you from beginning to end of your trek.

The highlights of this trip is the world’s highest lake Tilicho itself, that lees at the elevation of 4900 M, the Thorung La pass at 5,416m (17,769ft), adjoining glacier below Tilicho Peak is the ancient temple of Muktinath, a pilgrimage destination, and age-old villages with traditional lifestyles.

Autumn (September – November) and spring (March – May) are considered the best seasons for trekking as winter treks are particularly feasible in this reason. The hike takes additional 3–4 days. No camping is required, as new lodges have been built between Manang and the lake. The final approach to the lake is done in a day hike from the lodge at Tilicho Base Camp.
